Structural Narratives

For this residency I produced a new body of work which challenges two dimensional work through installation, combining digital alongside sculptural processes with architectural references. I couple the experience of walking across the city with its architectural plan to create a plurality of narratives about the structure of the city.

 

Primarily working with mixed media and printed textiles, this work brings elements of pattern repeat, which is connected with the iteration unfolding in the buildings’ architecture. I worked with photography documenting and mapping my walks, later recomposing, reworking and recreating new structures to present new narratives.

 

Disarrange of images and collage provide insight of how modern cities are constructed, how the old is connected with the new.
